Charles Edward Mills Jr. was born on July 24, 1924 to the proud parents of the late Lelia (nee Donaldson) Mills and Charles E. Mills, Sr.  Charles loved the Lord and gave his life to Christ at an early age.  He later joined Winton Hills Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Chip Hall.  Pastor Hall had a special bond and love for Charles.

He was educated in the Cincinnati Public School System.  He enlisted in the United States Army in 1945.  During his service in the Army Charles was given the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

Charles was a painter and maintenance professional by trade.  He was an avid card player, a dancer for love and billiards player.  He was fond of Western movies, shows, and crazy about martial arts movies.  He was a fluent swimmer.  Charles loved to fellowship with friends and family.

He fell in love with and married his childhood love, L. Pearl Wardley.  To that union two children were born, a son, the late Ralph L. Mills and a daughter Charlene Mills.

Charles later met and fell in love with Clara Lee Taylor.  To this union two children were born, a daughter, the late Debbie Mills and a son, Charles E. Mills, III.

He leaves to cherish his memory, children: James (Jennifer) Mills, Johnny Mills, Jason Mills, Garnet Taylor, and James Taylor.  A very special and longtime friend, Patricia Spivey, who will continue to hold Charles in her heart.

Charles Edward Mills, Jr. has 32 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild, and a host of extended family members and friends through his life's journey.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Rev. Dan Larkin, Jr., officiating.

Interment 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, at Dayton National Cemetery.
