IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Daniel
Miller, Sr.
December 25, 1943 – August 28, 2020
Charles Miller Sr. was born December 25, 1943, in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He was one of four children to the late Melvin T. and Thelma A. Miller (Logan). Charles graduated from Withrow high school and attended classes at the University of Cincinnati and studied theology at Temple Baptist College. Charles served four years in the Army as a medic; completing a tour of duty in the Vietnam War.
Charles met his wife Chequitta A. Miller (Woolfolk) in 1966. They married August 9, 1969, and celebrated 51 years of marriage. To this union was born four children; one son and three daughters.
While attending college Charles worked as a data processor and sales associate. He retired after years of service from Princeton city schools as a maintenance technician.
Charles accepted Christ at the age of 21 and worshiped and served faithfully under the leadership of Bishop J.M. Early. He became an ordained Elder at James Temple Church of God In Christ under the late Bishop William James. Years later he returned to The House of God Which Is the Church of the Living God and later became pastor after the passing of Bishop Early. Bishop Charles Miller was consecrated as State Bishop of Ohio in 1988 and served until his passing under the guidance of Chief Overseer Bishop Frank Green Sr. of Deerfield Beach, FL. Bishop Charles Miller was a well-loved pastor at House of God Which is the Church of the Living God for 30 years.
Charles was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He had a contagious laugh, a funny sense of humor and made everyone he came in contact with smile. He loved being around family and friends. He enjoyed life and spoke many times of how wonderful Heaven will be and its pearly gates. He had a gift of preaching. He could just open the Bible and preach with great joy. He enjoyed singing, playing a few chords on the piano, watching tennis, sitting outside, and his wife's cooking.
Those left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife, Chequitta, daughter Lydgia (Shawn) Sartor, son Charles Daniel (fiancee Mary) Miller Jr., daughter Loretta (Lawrence), Chappell, daughter Melissa Miller, (fiance Doe), grandsons Samari and Caleb, granddaughter Ariana, Mother-in-law Dr. Annabelle Hynson, a loving sister Garnetta Lofton and a host of family and friends. Charles's brothers Rev. A.T. Miller and Gregory Miller preceded him in death.
