IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Henry
Leach
October 3, 1933 – March 1, 2017
I am free, praise the lord, I'm free; No longer bound- no more chains holding me My soul is resting, it's just a blessing. Praise the Lord, Hallelujah – I'm free. Mr. Charles Henry Leach or "Leach" as he was affectionately known, departed this life early Wednesday morning, March 1, 2017, at his residence in Lincoln Heights. He was born in Clarkton, North Carolina, on October 3, 1933, to the late Henry and Lula Leach. As a young man he grew up farming tobacco. When duty called he joined the United States Armed Forces. He served for two years. His father proudly referred to him as Colonel. After returning home from the service Leach wanted to do something different. He decided to learn brick masonry. He mastered the craft and excelled in every facet. However Leach was not content with brick masonry only. He wanted to learn more. He decided to learn everything he could about building. And that he did! Leach and his family moved to Lincoln Heights in 1957. He became a master builder. The homes he built are too numerous to count. This attitude is reflective of our Heavenly Father. How He takes nothing and builds it into something. His life has always been centered around building. Leach accepted Christ at a very young age. He was a member of Ebenezer second Baptist church in Lincoln Heights till his death. He leaves to cherish his memories: Four sons, Chris Smith, Charles Hillman, Rodney Hillman, and Terrance Hillman, all of Cincinnati, Ohio. Seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Ebenezer Second Baptist Church, 10054 Dixie Court, Lincoln Heights (45215). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at 10:30 am on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428.
