Charles Donald Jefferson, age 79, passed away December 31, 2013, He was born March 14, 1934 in Covington, Kentucky. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Second Baptist Church of Newport, 713 Brighton Street, Newport, Kentucky (41071). Charles graduated from William Grant High School in 1952. He joined the United States Air Force where he served for 20 years making it a career. Upon his return to civilian life, he was employed with Cincinnati Bell for 20 years before retiring. Charles was joined in Holy Matrimony to Margaret M. Elmer on June 18, 1983, whom he was married to for 31 years. She faithfully cared for him through his sickness until death. Charles accepted Christ at an early age at Saint Paul A.M.E. in Newport, Kentucky. Later in life, he joined Second Baptist Church in Newport, Kentucky where he served faithfully until death. He joined the Senior Usher Board becoming President for many years, he was later ordained as a Deacon of Second Baptist Church and also was Head of the Pastoral Aid, he was a faithful Trustee and one of the lead singers in the Male Chorus. He served in all capacities at the church. Family members that precede him in death: Brothers, John and Jordan Jefferson, three sisters, Mary Hambrick, Birdie Mae Thomas and Alice Jefferson. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: wife, Margaret Jefferson; sister, Annabelle Morris; children, Herman L. Jasper (Lois), Eugenia M. Jasper, Angela N. Parks, Tammie Greene (Vance), Jackie Prince; grandchildren, Whitney Jasper, Margaret Faison, Jasmine Pate, Shariyah Brown, Sybriah Brown, Joshua Tolson, Jordan Jasper; and four great-grandchildren, Jayden Jasper, Jamikah Jasper, Qe'ilah Anderson, and Dre'Ael King Carter
