Obituary

Charles E. Jackson, more lovingly known as "Chuck", was born on January 5, 1952 to the union of Rose and Larkin Jackson. Charles was an active child that loved learning, music, movies and playing with his siblings, cousins and friends. When it came to words and numbers, Chuck was a quick learner and had an outstanding memory. He later became a huge game show fan and he enjoyed "Wheel of Fortune", but his favorite by far was "Jeopardy" with Alex Trebeck. He admired Mr. Trebeck because of his vast intelligence and ability to read and pronounce words of all languages and orients. Charles also learned and loved cooking, many of us who knew him well, called his kitchen the "Chuckster's". He became a master in the art of cooking for his family and close friends. Two of his favorite dishes to cook were macaroni and cheese and another family favor, his spicy chili. Chuck also loved getting together with his family on holidays and he would prepare an enormous Thanksgiving meal every year for all who showed up. Charles had a few jobs in his lifetime, but his longest job held was close to 20 years at "Club Chef", as a forklift operator. Those who knew him knew he was a giver and would give or lend to almost anyone in need if he could spare it. Chuck accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in his youth and was a faithful member of "Miracle Faith/ Kingdom Empowerment Ministries" until his passing. He loved his church and attended whenever he could. Chuck loved his family and friends and was extremely proud of his nieces and nephews. He was faithful to both until God called him home on 2-12-2014. Chuck is preceded in death by his father Larkin, mother, Rose; step-father, Robert Mayo; brother, Daryl; aunts, Laura Reliford and Emma Headen; two nephews, Tyler and little Daryl Pettis. He leaves to cherish his memory: three sisters, Tanya Fonville, Tamara Jackson and Tracey Jackson; one brother, Kevin Jackson; nieces, Theresa King Bell, Tascha (David) Nordgen, Tasandra Jackson and Marquette Pettis; nephews, Tacuma (Joyce) King, Terrance (Khailah) Jackson and Michael Pettis, and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
