Charlean Red Beck was born December 31, 1945 in Cincinnati, Oh to the proud parents of Marie Brown and Charles Williams. She departed this life on January 12, 2017. 'Red' as she was affectionately called was the second of seven children. After her mother's death she moved to Avondale and was raised by her Aunt Ella. Red attended Samuel Ach and Central High School. After high school Red worked for Cavalier Cleaners on Reading Road for 10 years until she injured her hand. Afterwards, she worked for Burton Elementary School as a crossing guard. Red also worked for K-Mart. While working at K-Mart, Red met Robert Beck, Jr. and they were joined in Holy Matrimony on March 19, 1983. To this union was born one daughter, Dantenyale Beck. Red was the mother of five children, two preceded her in death. Red recommitted her life to the Lord while in Mercy Fairfield Hospital in 2016 and became a member of Higher Ground Church Fellowship Center. Red loved to sing and she often sung her favorite song, 'Still Away.' She also loved 'to shop til she dropped' with her sister Michell. When she was home she loved to cook especially her favorite dish: chicken. Another favorite past time was watching soap operas and caring for her grandchildren that she loved dearly. She was loved all over the neighborhood because she never met a stranger. Red truly loved and cherished her family as well as her friends. To know her was to Love her because she was that kind of person. A special thanks to Lucy Lewis for the Love shown to Red. Red is preceded in death by two children, Pamela and Johnathan. Red leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband Robert Beck, Jr. Two daughters Rhonda (Willie) Irving and Dantenyale Beck, Two sons, Reginald Moody ( ), Sean Abernathy. Four sisters, Janet (Michael) Middlebrooks; Carolyn (Raymond) Johnson; Doris Ewing and Denise Ewing. Two brothers, George Ewing and Leonard Ewing. Five Grandchildren Jamar Brown, Rahme Brown, Robert Beck, Zi'Yale Moore, Bri'Yale Moore, Five Greatgrand children Rahmi, Jordan, and Jemel and a host of family and friends. Visitation is from 10:00am until 11:00am, on Saturday, January 21, 2016, at the James Temple Church of God in Christ, 1116 Lincoln Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio, (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00am. Interment will take place on Monday, January 23, 2017, 10:00am at Vine Street Hill Cemetery.
