Celestine (Long) Wyatt, age 78, departed this life on February 17, 2014 after a debilitating and lengthy illness. She was born of the union of the late Jessie Mae Owsley and Jesse Long on October 17, 1935. She was the 5th of 8 children born of this union. She was preceded in death by one sister, Emily Mae and four brothers, James, Eddie, Willie and Essie. Celestine leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Beverly; her son, Jeffrey and her darling baby girl, Brittany. Two sisters, Katherine Smith & Earnestine Clifford, and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. A very special thanks to her niece, Daphne Seay and Darlene Riggins for all your help and support during this time of bereavement. May all in attendance be edified by the words of the Lord which were spoken in Jesus' name, Amen. She was the fifth of eight children born to this union. She was preceded in death by one sister, Emily Mae and four brothers, James, Eddie, Willie and Essie. Celestine departed this life on February 17, 2014 after a debilitating and lengthly illness. Celestine attended Twelfth District Elementary School, Oyler Junior High School and graduated from Old Woodward Senior High School. After graduating, Celestine relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she met and married the late Travis Wyatt. Of this union were born Beverly and Jeffrey. Celestine returned to Cincinnati in 1968 and worked briefly at Shillito's Department Store and Community Chest before securing a position at the Hamilton County Welfare Department where she worked as a clerk before becoming a Supervisory Medical Assistant and retiring after 25 years of dedicated service in 1995. Celestine loved her family. She loved to cook, she loved to read, she loved painting ceramics, and she loved the simple things in life. She could always be counted on in the time of need, and the faith and belief in God, which she possessed, carried with it such a wisdom which anyone who knew her, knows it came directly from God. Her strength and her tenacity were unyielding and were an inspiration to all she encountered and interacted with. Celestine leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Beverly; her son, Jeffery and her darling baby girl, Brittany. Two sisters, Katherine Smith and Earnestine Clifford, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
