Cedric was born on June 29, 1962 in East Chicago, IN to the late Calvin Sr. and Sarah Dodds. Cedric was one of 5 children: Curley Lee Davis (deceased), Delores Marie Dodds Williams, Calvin Dodds, Jr., and Steven Dodds. Cedric united with Second Baptist Church of East Chicago, IN, Dave Williams, Pastor and was a Deacon of First Baptist Church, Elsmere, KY Norman D. Blankenship, Pastor until the time of his death. Cedric met his wife Melisa while working at Fidelity Investments in 1994. They later married on his birthday June 29, 1996. Cedric graduated from Horace Mann High in Gary, IN in 1980 and went on to serve in the US Navy from 1980-1984. Cedric was best known for his STRONG personality and for being VERY outspoken. You just really never knew what was going to come out of his mouth at any point in time! Cedric worked for Fifth Third Bank as the Statement Processing Lead from July 1999 up until the time of his death. Cedric was great at his job and was dependent upon by many. Cedric found much joy in being called "Papaw". To let him tell it he made the best rib tips hands down! To cherish his memory here on earth, Cedric leaves four sons, Jonathan Dodds, Elijah Dodds (Aliyah), Jonathan Commodore, and Cedric Dodds, Jr; two daughters, Gabrielle Disu (Lateef) and Chyna Hamilton; one sister, Delores Dodds Williams (Reverend Carl); two brothers Calvin Dodds, Jr. and Steven Dodds (Shelli); six grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, Chance, Xavier, Elijah, and Nehemiah; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Visitation is from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Elsmere, 1007 Garvey Avenue, Erlanger (41018). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery - Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, 2167 Dixie Highway, Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky 41017.
