Catherine Jackson, 75, received her wings on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Catherine was born in Milton, Florida on December 28, 1941, to the late Johnnie and Willie Mae Baldwin. She was one of seven siblings and grew up in Pensacola, Florida. Catherine was a very strong and spiritual woman. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, going to the casino, and most of all spending time with her family. She worked at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in the NICU Department, where she would retire in her later years. In her earlier years, Catherine met Sam Jackson, and while residing in New York, they married on November 8, 1958. The happy couple then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where their family grew. Together they had seven children, Andrew, Sandra, Sam Jr. (Sami Ali), Shirley, Darrlye, Cathy, and Norma Jean. In true tradition, Catherine's children followed in their parent's footsteps and the family multiplied. Catherine was fortunate enough to be the grandmother of twenty-three grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and five siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory, sister, Regina; seven children, twenty-three grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, daughters and sons-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and all of those she loved and touched in her lifetime. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at the Walker- Walnut Hills Chapel, 1025 E. McMillan Street , Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
