Carpenter Campbell, Jr. was born on September 29, 1946, in Floyd Dale, South Carolina.

Carpenter graduated from Latta High School in Latta, South Carolina, in 1966. He went on to attend Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina, graduating in 1968. Carpenter married his wife, Betty, in 1972, moving to Chicago, Illinois. They raised five children together.

Carpenter dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of St. Paul AME Church of Floyd Dale, South Carolina.

Carpenter moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1994 as a supervisor for Sears Industrial in Blue Ash, Ohio, where he retired after several years of service. Before his illness, he served as an office staff member of Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Temple, where Dr. Bishop LaVelton Daniel was his pastor.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Carlos Cortez Campbell and Derrick Darcell Campbell; his parents, Carpenter Campbell, Sr. and Dezeree Campbell; and his sister, Ella Faye Campbell.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Betty Campbell; daughter, Toni Campbell; sons, Carpenter Campbell, III and Erick Campbell (Nicole), Louisville, KY; his sisters, Shirley and Carolyn Stevens, Chicago, Illinois; cherished in-laws; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 11:00 am until 11:30 am, on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Greater Emanuel Apostolic Temple, 1150 W. Galbraith Road, Cincinnati (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:30 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
