Carolyn Elaine Isham, age 70, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born November 1, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Carolyn Elaine Isham was born on November 1, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Helen Washington and Grady Matthews, both whom preceded her in death. Carolyn was an only child of Helen and the apple of her dear grandmother's eye; Willa Mae Washington (Apple Mama) who also proceeded her in death. Carolyn, a strong and resilient fighter; was called home and departed this life on May 24, 2016. Carolyn was educated in Cincinnati Public Schools graduating from Robert A. Taft High School. Carolyn was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Arnold Ernest Isham Sr. on October 12, 1963, who preceded her in death. Of this union, four children were born Dexter, Arnold, Jeffery and Erika. Carolyn believed in family and spent most of her time with her family. Carolyn accepted Christ early and joined Jerriel Baptist Church in the West End. Carolyn worked at Children's Hospital for 26 years until her health forced her into retirement. Throughout her life Carolyn laughed and enjoyed being with her family. She loved music, playing cards, bingo and the casino. Carolyn had a wonderful spirit and it was felt by all that new her. Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory her four children: Dexter (Sheila) Isham; Arnold (Lisa) Isham; Jeffrey Isham and Erika Elaine (Nathaniel) Glover; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; Sister-in-laws Barbara Woods, Gwen Hargrove, Margie Isham and Joann (Ronald) Jackson a very special and close friend George W. Duke; and Dawn Duke, who was thought of as a daughter. Carolyn is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of other friends and family to remember her.
