Carol Jean Nichols, age 69, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in Sycamore Township, Ohio. She was born Monday, May 1, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Walker - Walnut Hills Chapel , 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati (45206) with visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. The granddaughter of Willie Gus and Ellenorah Taylor, Carol Jean Taylor, age 69 was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to her loving mother, Amanda Taylor in 1944. The family grew up in the West End. She was an only child for nine years until her brothers, Thomas and Daniel were born. Carol Jean was baptized and saved, giving her life to Jesus Christ as a young child. The family church was St. James 2nd Born Church In Christ, 3263 Beresford Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio under Pastor Mother Martha McDaniels. Carol Jean went to Bloom Junior High School and from there Taft High School, where she graduated in 1962. While at Taft High School, she met her future husband, Raymond Nichols. Carol Jean and Raymond married on November 7, 1964, both age 20. To this holy union, Raymond and Carol had one child, a daughter they named Nicole Denise (Nichols), whom they affectionately called 'Nikki'. Four years later, a son Eric Christopher was born. Carol Jean worked her whole life to take care of her family, no sacrifice too great. She worked at Christ Hospital for some years in her 20's, then 18 years at the U.S. Playing Card Company in Norwood, Ohio, retiring in the mid-1980's. She then went on to gain a Teaching Degree and began working at Nanny's Multi-Level Learning Center. Her love of children kept her there for the next 20 years until her permanent retirement in 2008. Carol Jean departed this life on March 26, 2014, after a 4 month illness. Just 23 days shy of her 70th birthday. Carol Jean leaves to mourn her passing: a loving, faithful, devoted praying mother, Amanda Taylor-Hull; two younger brothers, Thomas Majeed and Daniel Majeed; two children, Nikki Davis and Eric (Christina) Jackson; a grandson, Brandon Michael Davis (27) and granddaughter, Amanda Maliah Jackson (5). And a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
