Carmen Jarnelle Lawon Pitts, departed this life, April 22, 2020. She was born on September 7, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio and the world was introduced to a kind, loving and just wonderful person to the union of Warlen J. Lawson and Heavenly Kelley.

Carmen grew up in Northgate, Ohio, and attended Mt. Healthy High School and Scarlet Oaks Vocational School, where she studied Business Management. Carmen was no stranger to work, she worked everywhere for the United States Postal Service where she retired after 13 years of service.

Carmen married the love of her life Robert L. Pitts, Jr. to their union three beautiful children were born, Ameer, Ananda and Aliyah. Carmen was a great bonus mother to Robert's children; loving them if she birthed them herself, Robert Morton, Jewhn Witcher, Michael Morton, Rico Morton and Angela Morton. Carmen also leaves to cherish her precious memories her mother, Heavenly Kelley; father, Warlen J. Lawson; one sister, Tina Marie Lawson; three uncles, Odell (Barbara) Kelley, Duke (Carmen) Kelley and Kenneth Lawson and a host of grandchildren and cousins.

To Know Carmen was to love her. Carmen will truly be missed.

A gathering of family and friends is from 2:00 pm until 2:30 pm, on  Monday, May 4, 2020, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The memorial service will immediately follow the gathering beginning at 2:30 pm.
