Carl James Payne was born on July 28, 1955 to Carter and Amy A. Payne in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was called home to an everlasting rest on December 22, 2013. Carl attended Hays Elementary School, Porter Junior High and Robert A. Taft High School. He received a GED in 1976. He joined the United States Army in 1977. He was discharged in 1979. Carl's way of relaxing was by listening to music. He loved a wide array of music from Herbie Hancock to Kirk Franklin. He would plant flowers, paint, and work on computers. He could repair anything and often enjoyed restoring houses. His quiet, kind, and gentle ways will surely be missed by all. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Amy and Carter Payne; his brother, Alfred; brothers-in-law, Roy M. and Darrell L.; his niece, Loni Ashley Longmire. His memories will be cherished by his daughter, Carlissa and grandson Demarion. He was the seventh child of nine children. He has four sisters, Mary Alfredia (James), Gloria, Carter (Lena), and Amy Annette (Jack). He has three surviving brothers, Horace (Clemmie), Daniel (Jeanette) and David; nephews and nieces, Donald, Donna, Leonard, Antonio D., Jack, Candace, and Julani; great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
