Carl James Burton was born May 25, 1942, in the East End of Cincinnati, to the union of the late Frank and Olga Burton. He attended Cincinnati Public Schools. Carl was an active member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church under the late Rev. Houston. He came to know Christ at an early age and was an active member of the church. He later met and married Angela Williams. To this union was born three children. Carl loved all of his children and worked hard to provide for them. He was a generous, loving and kind man. Carl was a proud but humble man. He was known for drinking his Coca Cola, collecting gold coins, sitting on the porch basking in the sun, and taking care of his youngest grandson who was the apple of his eye. Carl worked at the Orthodox Jewish Home for 14 years and for the past twenty years he worked at the Cincinnati Association for the Blind. After a series of health issues he retired in May 2012. Carl leaves behind to cherish his memory: wife of 47 years, Angela Burton; son, Troy (Donnetta), daughters, Karla Burton and Tashia (Troy) Harris, son, Terrell Burton; sisters, Mary (Albert) Burton, Elsie Johnson; brothers, Frank (late Betty) Burton, Charles (Barbara) Burton. He was preceded in death by sister, Joann, brother, John Burton, grandchildren, Courtney Cooper, Trunell Williams, Tenisha Williams, Keion Hinton, and Miesha Burton, great-grandchildren, Ce'Ana Cooper, Santana Johnson, Santez Johnson, Malaya Lewis, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service 11:00 a.m, Friday, March 29 at Walker Funeral Home, 1025 E. McMillan Street, Cincinnati 45206. Visitation 10:00 a.m. until hour of service. Interment Vine Street Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers: Troy Williams, Calvin Johnson, Courtney Cooper, Emerson Calhouh, Trunell Williams, Wilson Lisembee. Honorary Pallbearers: Keion Hinton, Estoria Harris, Frank Burton, Albert Harris, Charles Burton. Flower Bearers: Trenisha Williams and Ce'Ana Cooper.
