Caressa Rachelle Barnes was born October 25, 1971, at General Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter to her beloved mother, Stephanie Barnes and father, Wendell Drake.
Caressa attended Woodward High School, Cincinnati State College, and Southwestern College.
In her free time, Caressa loved to travel, listen to music, and dance. She was the the life of the party. Caressa was a true foodie at heart. She enjoyed trying new restaurants, as well as cooking for and entertaining her loved ones.
Caressa spent her life surrounded by family and friends, whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Stephanie Barnes, aunts, Ada and Sandra Jackson (Tennell), grandfather, Vernon "Gramps" Barnes, great aunt, Ada Mitchell, and cousin, Wonder Jackson.
Caressa is survived by her children: Alfonzo Banks Jr., Sidney Reese (David), and Pierre Beal; sisters: LaSaundra Cobb and Gina J. Delaney honorary sister: Cheryl Hopkins ( Tyrone); 7 grandchildren: Kamryn Green, Jai'Rece Banks, Kahlil Banks, Malaya Banks, De'Zyre Reese, Isabella Cullers, and Judah Beal; her grandmother: Clotella Jackson ; uncle: Robert Behanan; and numerous nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends.
Caressa Barnes passed in peace on Thursday, April 21,2022 at the age of 50. Caressa's life may seem short to many. But for those who were touched by her, they understand that the quality of her existence, far exceeds the quantity of time we got to spend with her. She will truly and forever be missed.
Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm.
In keeping with CDC Covid19 Guidelines, we encourage those who are not fully vaccinated to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
