Bruce Earl Minnifield was born on December 6, 1962, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Edna Earl Agee Minnifield and William "Fats" Smith. He attended school in the Cincinnati Public School system and was a member of New Sardis Primitive Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Bruce loved his family and cherished his friends. He was a very smart and kind gentle giant, and a true sports enthusiast. During high school, he earned several letters and received offers in both college basketball and college football. He had a passion for the game and went on to coach and lead youth teams in football, baseball, and basketball. He is loved and will be deeply missed by the many young people who affectionately called him Coach Minnifield.

Bruce also loved to cook and often prepared meals for his family and friends. He especially enjoyed grilling and was known for making the best BBQ—particularly his ribs.

Bruce leaves to cherish his memory: his aunt, Goldie Hill; his siblings, William "Tony" Minnifield and Joann Minnifield-Turner; his children, Siesha Davis, Jazzi Cobb, Jarius Cobb, and Shaka Minnifield; his granddaughters, Nuriah Davis and Skylar Davis; and his nieces and nephews, Shaundra A. Minnifield, Niedra Camp, Deatra Ndiaye (Papa), De'aisha Waller, Jarobb Turner (Naswanna), Azaan D. Turner, and Aijalon D. Turner. He also leaves behind a large host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on  Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati  (45229).  The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
