Bruce Jonathan Lampkin, 61, of Rome, NY passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Hospice of Cincinnati surrounded by his loving family. Bruce was born in Washington, DC on September 19, 1956 and grew up in Hempstead, Long Island where he went to school and worked in Security prior to relocating to Rome where he committed to helping others as a CTA and serving in the local soup kitchen. Bruce enjoyed music, chess and spending time with friends and family – he was 'a groovy kinda guy'. Bruce leaves to cherish his memory; mother Joan Lampkin, devoted daughter, Linda Lampkin, granddaughters Simone Williams and Diamond McQueen, sister Patrice (Tim) Essex, cousins Terri Leggs, Zoe Ann (Sharon) Davis, and Angela (Richard) Boyd, niece Summer Lattimore, nephews, Curtis Lattimore Jr., Darrius (Sharona) Essex and a host of grand nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 28 at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Global Ministries, West Chester, OH.
