Bruce Chunn passed away April 15, 2013. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 26th 1958, he was the son of Ethel Mae Chunn and the late Reverend James Wesley Chunn Sr. A 1976 graduate of Chilicothe High School in Chilcothe, Ohio, he attended Wilberforce University where he was one of the founding members of Hound Phi Hound, a social organization BO Master. Bruce loved his church, St. Stephan AME, where he was a member and served as an officer of the church. He also loved his hometown and baseball. He founded the Sox Athletic Club and was the Athletic Director. Walnut Hills and Evanston area children ranging in age from 5 to 15 played basketball and baseball in the club. Bruce recruited, coached, trained, and raised funds for the organization. He was the Chief Umpire for the City Municipal Leagues in District 4 and 9, which included Mount Adams, Madisonville, Evanston, and Walnut Hills. He was an advocated for getting more African-Americans involved and developing youth in the communities. He once stated 'If I could get every person who grew up in Evanston to just come back and give a little time in helping with the youth, it would mean so much to every kid out here.' Bruce was married to Rosalynn Guice and to this a daughter was Born, Ericka Guice. Over the years he was employed at Kings Island and The Cincinnati Herald. He an entrepreneur sprirt where he walked as a teen at Andrew's Funeral Home. He started C&C Associates and as well as Chunn's Printed Sportswear, where he trained other young adults to be entrepreneurs. Bruce was loved by all who knew him. He was always the life of the party, He loved traveling the united states to sports functions and various family events. He was always willing to help those in need weather it was financially or a simple ride to work you could depend on him. He was truly dedicated to his family and his family at Wilberforce. He was preceded in death by his father, James Wesley Chunn Sr., brothers, Brian Chunn and James Wesley Chunn Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Rosalynn Guice; daughter, Ericka Guice; grandchildren, Erickia and Deleon Guice; mother, Ethel Chunn; sisters, Sakeena Abdullah and Mary Crawford; brother, Gregory Carr; aunts Helen Daniels, Betty Baggett; uncle Willie Floyd Alexander; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,other relatives and friends.
