Brenda L.
Smith
April 15, 1943 — June 3, 2026
Cincinnati
Brenda L. Smith was born on April 15, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her parents were Henry F. Smith, Sr., and Dorothy Mae Watson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Smith and two sons, Franklin and Ronald Smith.
She attended Cincinnati Public Schools and later graduated from McCall School of Business, the same school her mother attended, where she earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration.
The cities of Cincinnati, Ohio, and San Diego, California, have been her residence. While living in Cincinnati, she worked for Procter & Gamble Company and later for Fifth Third Bank. In San Diego, she was employed at the Department of Defense for the Navy. Her position with the Navy required extensive travel, allowing her to see the world and other cultures.
She has been a workaholic throughout her adult life, working well above the normal 40-hour work week. Even with her work schedule, she became a member of the Eastern Stars and stayed active as long as her health would allow. The reading of the Holy Scriptures and the church were important in her life.
Throughout life, she has had many very serious health problems. Over the years, she had numerous operations, but her body continued to fight the battles because of her endurance and willpower to live. Due to the seriousness of several operations, doctors at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, performed the operations because of their expertise in the field.
With her loving care, she became an inspirational figure in helping to raise her granddaughter, Brenda, from early childhood to a young adult. This was a tremendous accomplishment considering the many priorities in her life and the roadblocks that were necessary to remove.
She leaves to cherish her memories sons: Reginald (Lissa) Smith, Stepson: William Corliss Royales; stepdaughter: Linda Royles, Bernitha Royles, granddaughter, Brenda (Andrew) Smith; stepdaughters: Keviontae Patton, Shanell Martin; seven great-grandchildren; brother Henry (Marie) Smith, special cousins Eugene Cole, Carol Clark, Ronald Cole, Betty Cole and Christine Freeman and a host of other relatives and friends.
