Brenda Lee Simmons-Douglas was born October 1, 1954, to the union of Billie Artie Simmons and Sarah Lee Brown Simmons, Billie who has preceeded her in life also, with this union there were 7 other children: Cheryl, Artie (Rocky), Jackie, Lester, Allison, Tracey, and Anita also had preceeded her in life.
Brenda attended Millvale and Garfield Elementary and Heinold Jr High, and Hughes High School (The Big Red). After graduating from high school, she attended (1) year at the University of Cincinnati.
Brenda was a easy going person who had a variety of jobs until she worked at Children's Hospital, she was dedicated, hard worker then she met Kenneth Douglas. Her and Kenneth got married then they moved from Cincinnati to Mobile, Alabama were the continue to work hard and praised to Jesus Christ our Savior and raise their children. Later they returned to Cincinnati to be with more family. She later got sick. Together this union lasted until Kenneth departure of this world.
Brenda loved praising the Lord and most of all her greatest joy were her grandchildren and being called granny and hanging out with her 2 best friends, her sister Jackie and her mother Sarah, she loved her family.
Brenda leaves to cherish her memories; her (2) sons: Rodney (Raven) Duane (Eunice), her mom Sarah Simmons and her sisters: Cheryl Simmons, and Jackie Kirby-Simmons (James), Allison Watson and Tracey Smith; her brothers: Artie (Carol) Simmons and Lester (Tonya) Simmons; grandchildren: Ravon, Rodney Jr, Roland and Rowen and a Host of nieces and relatives.
Visitation is from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 3:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
