IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brenda Joyce
Mitchell
May 22, 1949 – August 17, 2020
"To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted" Ecclesiastes 3:1
A Time of Faith: As a youth, Brenda attended Sunday School and church regularly upon confession of her faith and attended Saint Simon of Cyrene Church.
A Time for Academics: Brenda graduated from Princenton High School where she cheered and participated in various activiites and clubs. Upon graduating from high school, she attended University of Cincinnati. Brenda was a very intelligent lady. She was an avid reader and writer and always took advantage of opportunities to improve herself.
A Time to Labor: Brenda worked as a chemist at Dupont prior to moving to Atlanta, Georgia and obtaining a position with the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Eventually she became an entrepreneur and pursued her true love as an esthetician.
A Time of Reflection: Brenda's physical presence will be missed. She was the glue that held the family together and often served as a consultant and a comforter for many of us.
A Time of Cherished Memories: Those who now stand in the afterglow of her life are her loving family: dedicated and loving soulmate of 22 years, Robert (Ken) Lewis of Clarkston, Georgia; devoted and only child, Ralph Gregory Mitchell-Johnson and fiancée (Lonita) of Decatur, Georgia; sibilings: Dianne Butler, Kind Butler, Jr., Gail Brown (Kenneth) and Belinda Davis (Eddie) of Cincinnati; two grandchidren: Dakari and Makalah Mitchell of North Carolina; seven nieces & nephews: Nikki Brown, Mileah West (Kenneth), Kerry Brown(Tanique), Carli Carpenter (Aaron), Gabrielle Davis, Kind Butler III, and Kyle Butler; eleven great nieces and nephews, three great-great nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
