Brenda
Green-Fallings
March 25, 1946 – March 14, 2026
Today, we honor and celebrate the life and spirit of Brenda Denise Green-Fallings, who peacefully passed away at the age of 79. Born on March 25, 1946, to the late Nina Mae and Charles Isome, Brenda was the eldest of four daughters and a guiding light within her family from an early age.
Brenda began her early education at Douglas Elementary School and Samuel Ach Junior High School, and later attended Central High School, which later became Courter Technical High School. It was there that she began to develop strength, resilience, and determination that would define her life.
She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. They meant the world to her.
In 1969, Brenda dedicated 3 years of service to General Hospital, where she worked in the Dietary Department. In 1972, she was blessed to successfully pass the examination to begin her career with the United States Postal Service. She devoted 32 years of faithful service before retiring in 2006. Through her work, she built lasting relationships and exemplified a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
It was during her time at USPS that she met the love of her life, her husband, James Fallings. Their union was a beautiful love story that spanned 41 years, filled with companionship, support, and enduring love. James remained faithfully by her side throughout her health journey and was with her until the very end.
Following her retirement, she worked at Central Clinic Behavioral Health as a clerical clerk for 4 years and went back to school to become a Certified Nurse’s Aide to dedicate several years of ministering and caring for the elderly through her work with multiple agencies, providing comfort, companionship, and compassionate care to those she served.
Brenda was a woman of deep faith; Brenda was a God-fearing Christian who found strength and peace in her relationship with the Lord. She was a devoted member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church for 42 years, where she faithfully served in numerous capacities. Her service included many years as a member of the choir, participation in the kitchen ministry, serving as the lead of the Pastor’s Anniversary Committee, and involvement in both the Blessings in a Backpack Ministry and the Pilgrim Women’s Ministry.
Brenda was devoted to prayer, rising early each day to join the prayer line, and she was rarely without her Bible. She instilled the love for Christ in her children at a very young age, a foundation she cherished deeply, with special appreciation for her beloved friend, Patricia Lee. Her Pilgrim Church family meant the world to her, and her family would not be who they are today without the church’s presence and influence in their lives.
Brenda had a vibrant spirit and a love for life’s simple joys. She enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, Spades, Pokeno, and working on crossword puzzle books. She was deeply family-oriented and created a home filled with love, laughter, and togetherness. Family vacations, traveling to amusement parks, and attending baseball games were cherished traditions while raising her children. The Cincinnati Reds were her favorite team, which she enjoyed watching every year with her husband, especially on Opening Day!
Weekend family gatherings were a staple in Brenda’s life. Her home was a place where children, cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts, and uncles would come together to listen to music, share meals, and enjoy each other’s company. Whether it was a backyard barbecue or a spread of chicken wings, chips, and pop, Brenda found her greatest joy in bringing her family together.
