Weatherall was born on March 3, 1925, in Forrest City, Arkansas, to the union of the late Erskine and Laura (House) Weatherall. He and Beulah (Rowell) Weatherall celebrated their Diamond Anniversary in 2013 and would have been married fifty-three years in June 2016. Booker was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Witnessing Team Member in Israel Baptist Church, Hamilton Ohio. When he relocated to his hometown in Forrest City, AR, he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Trustee, and Community Volunteer via Beth Salem Baptist Church. Upon his return to Hamilton, he re-joined Israel Baptist and was faithful until death. Booker would say his greatest accomplishments were, "Being a loyal soldier of the Lord, working with his hands at Weatherall Contractors, ministering to his family, and serving in his community." Others would point out that he was a recognized WWII soldier in the Munford Pointe Marines First Negro Battalion. His beloved spouse and offspring would add that his greatest accomplishment was his Godly example: "He was a great spiritual patriarch and priest of his home." When he realized his time on earth was short, Booker was not afraid. He chose to die at home surrounded by family rather than live artificially via machines. He had long ago enlisted his service to the Lord and endeavored to serve faithfully. At 11:46 pm on Friday, January 22, death was swallowed up in victory. A weary soldier who had fought a good fight finished his course and reported in to God to receive his crown of righteousness (2 Tim 4:7-8). Booker leaves behind four generations to revel in his testimony, including his loving wife, Beulah Weatherall; his surviving sister, Luceille Gillespie (Joseph, CA); his children: Kenneth Weatherall, Betty Black, Barbara Howard (Douglas), L. Lanell Holston (Alberta), and Henrietta Holston-Thompson (Clifford); his grandchildren: Tressie (Sylvester) Anigbo, Shanell Holston-Chapell (Michael), Mollie Thompson, Jamin Holston (Miranda), Khristina Thompson, and Shannen Thompson, as well as fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of family, friends and community members with whom he shared his faith, humor, counsel, and talents. Although our loss is great, the hope and reality of heaven is far greater. This is the end of a short era on earth and the dawn of a new, eternal one in glory. We love you Honey. May God help us meet again when the roll is called up yonder. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, SaturdayJanuary 30, 2016, at the Israel Baptist Church Hamilton, 701 South 7th Street, Hamilton (45011). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park, 4570 Trenton Oxford Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45011.
