Bonnie Jean Pritchett Embry was born on January 31, 1948, in Maysville, Kentucky, to the late Geneva Pleasant Pritchett and James Allen Pritchett. Maysville was where her journey began, and Covington, Kentucky, later became the place where she planted her roots, raised her children, and created a lifetime of precious family memories.

Bonnie continued her education and proudly earned her GED from Lincoln-Grant School. Determined to advance herself professionally, she later completed the Certified Legal Assistant Program through Chase Law School. Bonnie built a successful career with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, dedicating more than 25 years of service to the Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts. She handled important statistics for the state and provided administrative support within Kentucky’s court system, working alongside judges and other court professionals. Bonnie took great pride in her work and retired after many dedicated years of service in Frankfort, Kentucky.

Although Bonnie valued her education and career, nothing compared to the love she had for her children. Her children were her everything—her whole world. From the moment they were born, they became her strength, her daily joy, and her reason to keep moving forward.

She worked hard to be the best mother she knew how to be, and the love she poured into her children will remain in their hearts forever.

Bonnie was the loving mother of her three daughters, Dr. DeLena Pritchett Alexander, Leslie Renee Pritchett, and Nedra Elaine Embry Walker, and her only son, Tyrone Embry.

She was the proud grandmother of twins Jelen and Jamill, Dudley, Jessica, Kyerra, Courtney, Previn, Demetrius, Briana, Tyrone, Omari, Mykael, Darrius, and Elijah. Her grandchildren were among her greatest sources of pride and joy, and she loved each of them beyond measure. She had 26 great-grandchildren that she loved with all her heart.

Some of her most treasured moments were gatherings of years past, when everyone came together to play Tonk and Spades, laugh, tell stories, enjoy good food, and spend time with one another. She also enjoyed cooking, listening to the songs of Motown, and going to the casino where she actually won a time or two.

Bonnie was preceded in death and will be lovingly reunited with her parents, Geneva Pleasant Pritchett and James Allen Pritchett; “Granny Frances,” her dearest aunt, Norma Brookins; her older brother, Billy Pleasant; her brother, Robert Pritchett; her sister, Margie Connors; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Kareem(Coco) Pritchett, Lisa Pleasant, Christina Bolden,

Nicole Connors, and Adla Pritchett.

Bonnie leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her four devoted children: Dr. DeLena Pritchett Alexander (Arthur), Leslie Renee Pritchett, and Nedra Elaine Embry Walker; and her only son, Tyrone Embry; her beloved sisters, Kay Bolden, Mary Pritchett, and Rita Henderson; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Bonnie’s earthly journey ended on August 31, 2026, but the love she gave, the lessons she taught, the family traditions she created, and the countless memories she left behind will live on forever. Her family finds peace in knowing that she finished her race, kept the faith, and is now resting safely and freely in the arms of the Lord.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm, on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 4:00 pm.
