Bonnie Lee (Marshall) Jefferson, born December 27, 1950, passed away on May 6, 2026. If ever there was an embodiment of the spiritual gift of giving, it was Bonnie.  The oldest of five children, Bonnie loved family and never seemed to tire of telling stories at family gatherings. Stories that almost always began with, “Do you remember the time…” and were punctuated by her infectious laugh.

It was at Shroder Junior High School that she met the person who would become her most beloved family member—her husband, Tyrone (“Tiny”) Jefferson. Somewhere between Shroder and attending Courter Tech High School together, they became sweethearts and would have celebrated 53 years of marriage this August. Those who knew Bonnie knew her to be a devoted and loving wife.Bonnie spent much of her working life in food service and was a wonderful cook. She firmly believed there could never be too much food when feeding others and often prepared enough for everyone to take food home. She was especially known for her potato salad, which she famously served in a punch bowl.As a member of Oakley Baptist Church, Bonnie served faithfully as a member of the Adult Choir, the Women’s Chorus, and as a deaconess alongside her husband, who served as a deacon. She enjoyed listening to and singing gospel music, watching wrestling, and, in her younger years, imitating the moves of James Brown while dancing the Mashed Potato.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Marshall Langford, and her brother, Michael Langford. She is survived by her husband, Tyrone (“Tiny”) Jefferson; her sisters, Sheila Ann Marshall Jordan (Kerry) and Christina Marie Langford Miller (Edward); her brother, Terry Johnathan Langford (Yvette); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family will have a graveside service on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Spring Grove Cemetery at 11:00 am.
