Bobby R. Dixon was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 15, 1944, to the loving family of Horbert and Viola Dixon. He was the oldest of eleven children.

Bobby attended Withrow High School, where he ran Track and Field. He grew up attending Little Rock Church of God in Christ. His faith stayed with him throughout his life.

In 1965, Bobby married Irma J. Scott. This union was blessed with four children. In 1979, Bobby married Marlene McDade. This union was blessed with one child.

Bobby retired from construction work after 30 years. He enjoyed listening to his favorite Blues Singers, Johnny Taylor and B.B King, as he drove his camper down the road. He enjoyed camping with friends for many years. Bobby loved his family and spending time with his great-grandchildren. They would sing along with him his favorite song, “My Last Two Dollars.” Bobby will be remembered as an outgoing, friendly, sarcastic, and funny guy by everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his two sons, Bobby R. Dixon, Jr. and Terrence F. McDade. He leaves to celebrate his life: his wife of 47 years, Marlene Dixon; one son, Tyrone Dixon; four daughters, Terrell Brockman, Yolanda Dixon, Rosalind Hill, and Theresa Davis; three brothers, Norman Dixon, George Dixon, and Calvin Dixon; seven sisters, Christine Tubbs, Carol Wilson, Marquetta Bowman, Patricia Hill, Elaine Bennett, Shirley Lynn, and Pam Dixon; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren; as well as a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
