Billy Ray Lewis, 68, of Covington, Kentucky, passed away on June 23, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky. Born on October 7, 1957, in Covington, Billy was a proud graduate of Holmes High School, where he was a member of the drill team. He went on to work as a dedicated pipe layer in construction—a hardworking man known for his grit, loyalty, and sense of humor.

Billy had a gift for making people laugh and found joy in the simple things, especially spending time with friends at the Ape Yard. He carried a warm, easygoing spirit and left an impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his sons, Billy Lewis and John Lewis; his brother, William Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and friends who will deeply miss him.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and John Lewis; his brothers, Charles Lewis, Lawrence Lewis, and Roger Lewis; and his sisters, Johnny Mae Little and Connie Bandy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Covington, Kentucky. A graveside service will follow at Linden Grove Cemetery, also in Covington.

Billy Ray Lewis lived a life full of laughter, love, and loyalty. Though he may be gone, his stories, smile, and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
