Obituary

Minister Betty Jean Irby 75 of Cincinnati OH departed this life Wednesday January 26, 2022.

Betty Jean Irby was born April 15, 1946 in Birmingham, AL, a daughter of the late Coleman Reed and Fannie Lewis. Betty was a member of The First House of Prayer Chicago, IL under the leadership of Prophet LK Johnson. While in Chicago she was a bus driver for the school system and she was a foster parent to 3 children. She moved to Cincinnati, OH in 2005 to be closer to her siblings.

Betty was an active member and a mother of Reality Sanctuary under the leadership of Apostle Kevin Whitson and served faithfully until the Lord called her home. Betty received her ministers license in 2020. Betty loved to travel with Apostle Whiston wherever he went to preach. She touched everyone that she came in contact with. Betty's favorite saying was "That's Awesome" and "Well Alright". Betty loved to collect angels and bells. Betty was in the process of getting her GED at Dohn Community High School. She was employed with Randstadt where she worked at the IRS post office.

Betty leaves to cherish and forever hold dear her memories three children Charessta Jordan, Charles (Debra) Jones, Ulysses Irby. A daughter-in-law Joann Jones. A brother James Lewis of Cincinnati, OH and a sister Joan (Darnell) Blunt of Cincinnati, OH. 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Her husband Lugene Irby passed away 1992. One son Maurice Jones preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati  (45229).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.

In keeping with CDC Covid19 Guidelines, we encourage those who are not fully vaccinated to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
