Obituary Betty J. Dawson blessed this earth on July 18th, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio through the union of (deceased parents) Raymond Pye Sr. and Deginea Pye. Betty was the youngest of 4 children from this union. Betty is preceded in death by husband Steve Dawson Jr., brother George Pye, Sister Marion Wyde, son-in-law Morris Jones. Betty was a long standing employee of Deaconess Hospital where she retired from. Betty as a single mother she made great sacrifices to raise and care for her children. She grew up in the west end and later moved to the Bond Hill community where she resided for the next 46 years. She enjoyed having time with her children and family dancing, singing, telling jokes an was the life of the party. She had a great sense of humor and was very young at heart. She was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need, never asking for help for herself. She took great pleasure being with young people especially her grand children helping them become better people. Betty accepted Christ at a early age. She was a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church. Betty was married to Steve Dawson in 1987 and were blessed to be married for 25 years. and special thanks to her good friend Rita. Betty leaves to cherish her memories and accomplishments her oldest Brother Raymond Pye Jr. children, Deginea Jones, James W. Harrison (Dina) and Kino Harrison. 10 Grand Children, Kamia, Morris, Iyana, Jason, Kino Jr., Yasmine, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Elijah, Cordelle. Four Great Grand Children, Madison, Jurnee, Kinsley, Madisyn and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and may other family and friends. Betty memories will live long throughout the heart of many family members as she loved with her consistent presence. So with a great absence in our lives, we say, thank you and God Bless. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 6601 Montgomery Road, Silverton (45213).
