IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Sue
Cummings
February 26, 1934 – February 23, 2016
"I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears." Psalms 34:4 Betty Sue Cummings, age 81, dearest wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away on February 23, 2016 in her home following a bout of pneumonia. Betty Sue was born on February 26, 1934 to the late Tom and Annie Mae Payne in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended school at Harriet Beecher Stowe in Cincinnati, before beginning her family with Willie Lee Cummings. Together they would add to their home a total of three children: Algeria, Willie Lee (Jr.) and [Prince] Barry. While her young family grew, Betty Sue enjoyed working for years at Kenner Factory in Cincinnati on the production line. In her free time, she enjoyed socializing with friends and family, taking long-distance trips, visiting relatives in Georgia and Florida, as well as going to the beach. Both Betty Sue and Willie Lee often welcomed and fed guests and family members in their home, providing a warm environment to others for decades. In her final years, she enjoyed watching television, spending time with her various family members and her dog Jack. Betty Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Willie, and daughter, Algeria. She is survived by her sons, Willie Lee Jr. and Prince, two daughter-in-laws, one son-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews, and over two dozen grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Blessings for Mama/Nana/Aunt Betty Sue If only we could see the splendor of the land To which our loved ones are called from you and me We'd understand If only we could hear the welcome they receive From old familiar voices all so dear We would not grieve If only we could know the reason why they went We'd smile and wipe away the tears that flow And wait content.
