Bessie "BeBe" Commodore (nee Garrett) passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. She was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on March 6, 1929 to the late John and Emma Garrett.

She was preceded in death by her siblings John, Eugene, Stanley, Lucy, Georgia, Mary and her beloved husband Eugene Commodore Sr. Bessie is survived by her children, Connie Jones, Regina Murray (Leon) Eugene Jr., Lorraine Brenner (William), Melvin Commodore, Calvin Commodore, Christine Bogan, Lisa Commodore 21 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Sisters Ann Ferguson, Lela Garrett and a host of nieces, nephews and family and friends.

Bessie was baptized as a child at Evergreen Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, she moved to Cincinnati at the age of 18 and received her Practical Nursing degree in 1954 and worked at Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was a faithful member of New Life Baptist Church where she served as Secretary of the Sunday Department and a member of the Senior Choir. Her favorite saying(s) included "I'm Still Here" "Made of that Good Stuff" "Don't get my Cherokee blood boiling" and several other Bessieism. She enjoyed going to worship and was usually the first one there, listening to the Cincinnati Reds on the radio spending time with family and was an avid walker throughout the neighborhood.

Visitation is from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, on  Saturday, September 22, 2018, at the New Life Baptist Church, 6434 Simpson Avenue, Cincinnati  (45224).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
