Bertha Mae Dixon was born on November 4, 1940 in Wilkes county, Washington GA. She was one of four children born to the late Roosevelt "Frog" and Fannie Bell Ware. She departed this life September 9, 2018 following a long illness.

She graduated from Taft High School in Cincinnati, Bertha joined New Hope Baptist Church at an early age, she married Orie Baxter Sr.  From that union, two children were born, Orie Baxter Jr. and Sharon Renee Baxter.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward D., his wife, Walter Mae Ware, along with Orie Baxter Sr.

In 1977 she United in Holy Matrimony to Norman Dixon; they were married 40 years. Bertha liked fishing and going to Trader's World.

She leaves to cherish her memory husband, Norman; step daughter, Tracy (Charles) Watson; stepson, Norman Dixon Jr.;  sister-in-law, Pamela Dixon and Barry Ballew son Orie (Angela) Baxter of Sugarland, Texas; four grandchildren Tania Monroe, Tyler Ware, Taylor Ware and Orie Baxter Jr.; two great grandchildren, Lance and Lauren Robinson; brothers, Oliver (Delores) Ware of Fayetteville, NC.,  Roosevelt (Delores) Ware Jr. of Brooklyn, NY and Bryant (Margo) Ware of Brooklyn, NY; cousins, Doris Wilbon (Will) Payton of Cincinnati, OH and Francine Clemons of Cincinnati, OH; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Friday, September 21, 2018, at the Walker- Walnut Hills Chapel, 1025 E. McMillan Street , Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 3117 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
