Obituary

Bertha Maye Lattimore-Taylor was born May 8, 1932, to the late Thomas and Edna Lattimore in Concord NC. The Lord Called her home on August 8, 2024, at the home of her granddaughter Amber J Bradford (Robert L Bradford) where she resided, surrounded by family.

During her early years, (In the 1940's) she moved to Cincinnati OH. She sang with her sisters Lillian Lattimore-Black and Evangelist Helen Lattimore-Williams in a group called the Junior Echoes; later becoming The Famous Lattimore Sisters. The group's name was changed by their mother Edna Lattimore.

Maye sang lead with The Famous Lattimore Sisters and they continued to sing God's Praises for many years in the city of Cincinnati and surrounding states. They were known for their beautiful harmonizing voices. They received "The Key To The City" of Cincinnati and won many gospel awards and accolades.

Maye accepted Christ at an early age. She joined Golden Leaf Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Samuel Bell. Though she was the last living of the Famous Lattimore Sisters, she continued to sing in numerous churches throughout Cincinnati until her health began to fail. Toward's the end of her journey, she joined Rockdale Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor O'Neil.

In the 1970's she married Billy L Taylor and moved to San Francisco CA and then to Oakland CA. Later she moved back to Cincinnati OH and worked as a Hamilton County Police officer working security in the Federal Building. Maye obtained her GED from the Southwestern College of Business and a Nurses Aid Certificate. She was known as "Aunt Maye" by many. She loved clothes, shoes, going to the thrift store, bingo, the casino and throwing Halloween parties for the children every year. Maye cooked the best Pinto Beans and Cornbread this side of heaven!

She was preceded in death by her two sons Fredrick D. Lattimore and Ronald Lattimore and all ten of her siblings, great-grandaughter Shareese Lattimore and grandson Damonte Harvill.

She leaves to cherish her memory 4 daughters: Belinda A. Lattimore, Marion D. Bess (Rodney), Venita A. Lattimore and Candace Y Lattimore-Wilkerson, 5 sons Eric P Lattimore, Jerome Harkness, Dwayne C. Lattimore (Charlene), Anthony P. Lattimore, Darian R. Lattimore, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- greatgrandchildren and many other family and friends.

Visitation is from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm, on  Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Inspirational Bible Church (Formerly James Temple COGIC), 1116 Lincoln Avenue, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 4:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy she leaves behind.

Interment at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2024,  at Baltimore Pike Cemetery, 3200 Costello Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.
