Reflections of a Blessed Life The transition of  life is one of God's  greatest  gifts,  we take it on faith that one day we will all  meet again.   Therefore,  we  should all celebrate and commemorate the life that was.    Bernice Gwendolyn Wilson made her transition into eternal rest peacefully at Hospice of Cincinnati  on  June 2, 2017.   She was born  to  James P. Ruffin  and Rosetta  Ruffin (nee  Street) on  June 28, 1929,  in  Selma, Alabama,  the  youngest of five girls and one boy. Bernice accepted the Lord  as  her  Savior at  Brown Chapel A. M. E. in Selma, Alabama.  She graduated  from  Knox  Academy  in  Selma, Alabama.   Bernice was united in holy  matrimony  to  William P. Wilson on June 11,  1949.   She later moved to New York City,  where  she  lived for  sixty-two years.   After retiring as a secretary at CitiBank  for  thirty-five  years,  she spent time traveling the world with family and friends.   Bernice relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio in 2013 to be near her son. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Vera M. Gaines, Marion J. Mutry, Dorothy  J. Dozier and  brother,   Herbert  H. Ruffin. Bernice is survived by her son  William H.  (Sheila) Wilson, a sister Flora Nicholson of Oakland, California,  nephews:  Kenneth Gaines, Ronald Ruffin, Donald  Ruffin, Gerald Ruffin; nieces: Tanya Nicholson Osorio, Vera Ruffin,  Wanda Ruffin;  great nieces:  Danielle Matos-Osorio and Lauren Gaines;  great  nephews:  Nestor Matos-Osorio Jr.,  Gregory Kenneth (Samira) Gaines,  Erik Justin (Janice) Gaines, Michael Gaines Jr. and cousins Daryl  Omeziri  and Imogene Bolen. Bernice leaves behind precious memories of lifelong friends Ida Payne, Joan Yates, Barbara H. Price, Peggy Haskins and Aletha Ashby. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Walker Funeral hapel, 7272 Hamilton Avenue, Mt. Healthy (45231).  The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue (45232).
