Obituary

Bennie Lee Hogue Jr. was born to Susie and Bennie Hogue on April 11, 1964 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Bennie was educated in the Cincinnati Public School System. He was very active in sports, especially in basketball.  His nickname on the Taft Varsity Team was Ropeman for his agility with the ball. Bennis was also very active at the LeBlond boys club, where he started as a member in his youth; and ended as a coach and mentor in his adult years. For more than 10 years Bennie was a manager and food preparer at P.J.'S Delicatessen. Bennie was a phenomenal chef and worked at some of Cincinnati's finest restaurants.

Bennie had a great love for music and having a good time.  His all time favorite entertainer was the world renown Michael Jackson. (that is the reason Michael Jackson songs are being played during the service.)

Bennie was a very faithful friend and confidante.  Anyone he loved could call on him day or night and he would be there to render service, loan money or offer advice. He was a very generous soul. He had a tremendous love for his friends and buddies, many of which he had kept in contact with since his youth. Bennie was a lover of the finer things in life and he enjoyed dressing up and enjoying gatherings with family and friends.

Bennie was a loving father to Michael Lionel Williams and Mister Malcolm Hogue. Bennie was also a faithful uncle, he would gather his nephews together and offer wisdom to his nephews Jarod P. Hogue and Jordan E. Stripling. He was a very protective and generous brother, "if he had it you could get it."  He would often have long talks with his younger sister Cynthia, they would talk and laugh for hours on the phone.

Bennie never met a stranger and was comfortable among the best of us and the worst of us.  He saw the value in everyone.

Unfortunately, Bennie suffered paraplegia five years ago, but he did not allow that to break his spirit.  He would speak encouraging words to the staff and other residents.  He was an avid student of the Bible.  He knew the Bible backwards and forwards and was able to discuss the Bible with anyone and everyone.

Bennie is survived by his mother, Susie B. Hogue, sisters Veasta Hogue, Phyllis H. Thompson (Derek) and Cynthia Hogue, as well as younger brother Bradford R. Hogue, sons, Michael L. Williams and Mister Malcolm Hogue, nephews Jarod P. Hogue, Jordan E. Stripling and Lemuel Hogue, as well as a host of family and friends.
