Bennie M.
Doggett
July 31, 1943 – February 14, 2026
Bennie M. Doggett was born on July 31, 1943, to Benjamin Ray and Lula Mae Ray. Once a mother, confidant, and teacher — she is now a guardian angel. Thank you, Mom, for your strength, your prayers, and your encouragement. You always reminded me that I would need the courage and confidence of David, for there would be many forms of Goliath throughout my life. Yet, as long as I was covered by the whole armor of God, I would be just fine.
Bennie loved her family and her community deeply. She lived to ensure that everyone was treated fairly and that no one went without. Bold and strong, she was as unafraid of death as she was of life. She met every challenge with grace and dignity.
She departed this life on February 14, 2026. It brings peace to the soul to know that she chose a day when love is celebrated universally as the day she received her wings. It was already a special day — the birthday of her beloved Great Aunt “Antie” — making it a beautiful and meaningful day both on earth and in Heaven.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Channon D. Moore (daughter) and Shawn LeRoy Moore (son); her brothers Otis Ray Sr., James Brown, William C. Brown, Arron Brown, Tommy Ray, and Jimmy Ray; her sisters Dorothy Johnson and Earlena O'Neal; along with four generations of nieces and nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles, and a host of cherished friends.
I love you, Mom — eternally and ever after.
On behalf of myself and my family, we thank everyone for their prayers, love, and kind thoughts during this time.
