IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Benjamin John
Reese
June 13, 1928 – May 9, 2016
Benjamin J. Reese was born on June 13, 1932 in Cincinnati Ohio to the union of the late George Lee Reese Sr. and Alice Rebecca Eakins-Reese. He departed this life, May 9, 2016 at Bethesda North Hospital at the age of 83. He enjoyed a full life on earth and peacefully returned to his Heavenly home to continue his walk with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ben was the second of seven children born to them. Siblings, Rosa Marie Ray, Joyce Johnson, George Reese Jr., Marva White all preceded him in death. Ben was married to Florence Reese who also preceded him in death, as well as his son Roland. Ben grew up in West College Hill, attended Steel School and joined the U.S. Army in 1951; he was honorably discharged after two years of service during the Korean War. He joined First Baptist Church of West College Hill under the pastorate of Rev. Edward Jones Sr., at an early age. He and his wife Florence loved to travel and visited many places in and outside of the USA. He was not much of a talker in his later years, if he could answer you with a yes or no he would, if it took a sentence, you probably wouldn't get an answer. Ben leaves to cherish his memory his brother Ronald (Loraine) Reese and sister Marjean Moreland. His children Tony, Shawn, John, and Venus; grandchildren and great grandchildren, a host of special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and He will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 NIV The Family would like to thank everyone for coming out to celebrate Ben's life, all the flowers, cards, phone calls, thoughts and prayers. We would also like to extend our thanks to Walker's Funeral home for providing the beautiful Home going service for our beloved Benjamin J. Reese.
