IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Belinda Day
(Washington)
August 11, 1956 – March 29, 2024
A Time to be Born
Belinda Day was born on August 11, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the union of Clarence and Marie Washington.
A Time to Love
Belinda met Michael (Micky) Day at Woodward High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. They were joined in matrimony shortly after she graduated in 1974.
A Time to Build
She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age while attending Zion Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. She later joined Bond Hill Presbyterian Church. As a member, she volunteered to assist with the food pantry and singing in the choir. She took great pride in being a woman of God and a beacon of God's love and grace for the world to see. Professionally, she had an unyielding desire to serve and help others. Her career entailed working at various organizations in customer relations, healthcare, and early childhood education. When she became a homemaker, she was blessed with her first-born son, Michael "Lonnie" Day Jr. Years later, she was blessed with another son, Terry Jermaine Taylor. Belinda was a very gentle spirit but a fierce protector of her family and children. She was a true nurturer and caretaker in her day-to-day life. She often called many family members and friends daily to make sure that they were okay and if they needed anything. No matter her physical state, if she could, she would call and check on you. She also had a wonderful sense of humor with a contagious laugh. She enjoyed watching cartoons (Scooby-Doo, Dragonball Z, and the Simpsons were her favorites), Sci-fi movies and shows, and Westerns. Despite multiple surgeries and health issues over the years, she was a fighter and would always bounce back, earning the nickname "The Comeback Kid" until God chose to call her home.
A Time of Peace
Belinda departed this life on "Good Friday" at Good Samaritan Hospital on March 29, 2024. Preceding her in death were her loving parents, Clarence and Marie Washington; aunt, Maggie Dell Chambers; three sisters, Annie Pearl Mims, Betty Louise Stallworth, and Diana Doll Washington; one brother, Clarence Washington Jr., and several other family members.
A Time to Cherish and Rejoice
She leaves to cherish her memories, sisters Patricia A. Stills and Brenda L. Washington, sons Michael L. Day Jr. and Terry J. Taylor (Justina Taylor), and nephew Larry "Glenn" Stills II, niece, Arnika "Nickii" Rhodes (Lamont Rhodes), cousins Ronald Chambers, Gregory Chambers, Albert Chambers Jr, Debra "Bey Bey" Chambers, Lois Johnson (Fred), Doris Doll McCoy, Yvonne "Barney" Chambers and a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
