Beatrice Kennedy was born October 2, 1941 in Birmingham, Alabama to Venus Coleman and the late Major Hamilton. Her family that preceded her in death is her grandmother Bea of Birmingham, Alabama; two aunts, Beatrice and Honey of Birmingham, Alabama; brother, Wesley Hamilton of Cincinnati, Ohio; cousin, Virginia Motley of Birmingham, Alabama; aunt and uncle, Joe and Sue Hamilton. Beatrice was married and divorced to Albert Cornist and Thomas Kennedy. Beatrice worked at the Mental Health Facility at the Lewis Center for over 30 years, until she retired. Beatrice was a very confident and strong willed woman that loved her family very much. Angela her granddaughter was the light of her life. She was very proud of her, they were very close. Beatrice had a year- long battle, with this illness. She never gave up. She passed away at Hospice Drake Hospital. Beatrice is survived by a daughter, Diana Lynn Cornist; son, Michael Kennedy, granddaughter, Angela Williams; two brothers, Elvin Coleman (Gerry) of Birmingham, Al, Harold Coleman of Birmingham, AL, cousin, Clint Motley of Birmingham, AL; aunt, Rubye Bryant, stepsister, Sarah Rhodes, sister-in-law, Loretta Hamilton, and close friend, Cynthia Arnold.
