Bobbie, as she was lovingly called, was a beautiful, kind, giving woman who we all came to love. She lived a life in service to others and believed in enjoying life. She departed this earth at the age of 69 on December 6, 2014 at her home in Cincinnati, OH. She was born on March 24, 1945 to Albert (AJ) and Lucinda Devine in Selma, AL where she was the first of ten children. She is preceded in death by her parents: Albert (AJ) & Lucinda, and siblings: Nancy, Albert Jr.(Space), and Larry. With Bobbie in tow, her parents moved to Cincinnati, OH where she attended Lincoln Heights High School. Her passion in life was to care for those who were in need. This led her into a nursing career and she became an LPN. She also took culinary classes which fueled her zeal for the culinary arts. She became a witness to Jehovah at an early age and her dedicated cousin Mary Jane helped her keep her faith as she was consumed with illness in her later years. Barbara was married to C.W. Metcalf and to this union 3 children were born: Kathryn Capell (Tyrone), Rolanda Metcalf, & Anthony Metcalf. She was also blessed with 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She leaves six brothers and sisters to hold her memory: Angelo DeVine, Patricia Womack (James) , Carlos DeVine, Martin DeVine, Cornell DeVine, and Dinah Scott (Darryll) all of Cincinnati, OH. Her hobbies were numerous and included ardor for music, reading, dancing, quilting, and sewing. She had an active social life and was a part of the Eastern Star fraternal organization and the Red Hat Society where she continued to touch everyone with her caring and charisma.
