Barbara Louise Craig was born December 8, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born to the union of Marshall and late Mildred Willams. She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Craig and brothers Marshall Williams Jr, Robert Willams, Michael Spratley, Andrew Williams, daughter Marcella Williams, grand-daughter Jazzey Thomas, and grandson Javon Thomas Tyler Thompson. Barbara accepted Christ and was baptized at the Church of Advent in 2008. She reached out and took God's hand and journey in promised land on February 2, 2021.
Barbara was educated in the Cincinnati Public School system. She worked various jobs including General Hospital and Artimis. She also enjoyed going to the library to read and quality time with her family. She was also a "Bird Lover" and had two birds named "Twig" and "Mellow Yellow" who traveled along with her. She loved playing dominos (Bones) and crossword puzzles and watching cartoons; Smurf, Flintstone, and Curious George Barbara, also lovingly known as "Fast Black" was an amazing sister, mom, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great grandmother and loved to cook a variety of dishes such as greens, baked macaroni cheese, and seven-layer salad with sweet potatoe pies being her specialty for the holiday. She loved to dance and surely was the life of the party with her "Moe Money" cane.
Every day she would kiss her hands and put them in the air and say Thank you Jesus and God got me. She had a strong backbone. Every time she left her Chemotherapy and Radiation appointment she never felt sick. She always wanted her daughter LaTanya "Baby Girl", who she loved so dearly, to take her shopping and out to eat at different restaurants. One of her favorites was Red Lobster, which she would order her king crab legs and steak. Christmas was her favorite holidays, she would mail out cards and give out gifts.
She had a great-grandson Tarez (T-man) she always spoke knowledge into him. Her first great grand-daughter Deza'Raye (Cupcake) who she taught how to cook in the kitchen. Her great grand-daughter name Dezire that was born a day before her birthday and has her middle name Louise, she called her, Lou Lou. Royal her great-granddaughter( Ro-Ro) she always said she has that beautiful smile like her grandmother Marcella her daughter.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted family, children; Sigmund Peterson, Sherina Peterson, LaTanya Vaughn, Anthony Truitt (April), Tasha Blackwell, and Sylvia Davis; grandchildren, Lawrence, Michael, Tony, Bryant, Shayla, Isiah, Antonio, William, and Marshall; two special granddaughters. Johnisha who she called "Eyes", and told her she loved her every day and how proud she is of her. Shayna who she called "Granny" and loved her so much. Great-grandchildren; Ra'Shid, Tarez, Dez'Raye, Tavion, Ra'Shaad, Dezire, Royal, Daemiana, Dre Daniel Jr. Siblings; Betty Williams, Ronald Williams (Johnnie). Sharon Walker(Wayne) and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The Gathering is from 2:00 pm until 2:30 pm on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Walker Funeral Home, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio (45206). The memorial service will immediately follow the gathering beginning at 2:30 pm. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
In keeping with the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions masks are required in order to enter the service and social distancing must be practiced. Please be prepared to comply for the safety of all.
