Barbara Augusta Parker was born on November 14, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Howard Otis Parker and Katie J. (Thomas) Parker. She was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday July 5, 2026.

Barbara graduated from Withrow High School in 1967. She built a diverse and dedicated career, working in key punching, data entry, child care and other roles. She especially loved her work at Nanny Multi-Learning Center where she remained until her retirement.

Barbara accepted Christ at an early age. Her Christian journey began at Bethel Baptist Church and then to Kennedy Heights Presbyterian Church. She later united with New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member and sang in the choir. For a short time, she attended New Evergreen Ministries under the leadership of Pastor David Goins, as it was closer to her home. She then reunited back home with New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she remained a member until the time of her passing.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ryan Daniel Parker; her parents, Howard Otis Parker and Katie J. (Thomas)Parker; her sisters, Virginia Patton and Verdell Richardson; and her nephew, Michael Thomas.

She leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren; Rian Parker, Rhys Parker, Rylan Parker, Roman Parker, Royce Parker and Ryah Parker whom she loved unconditionally; her daughters-in-love, Diane Parker and Hope Godfrey; her niece, Cassandra Cunningham of Charlotte, North Carolina; her nephews, Larry Thomas and Raychond Richardson both of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Barbara’s life was marked by faith, devotion and love, especially for her family. Her warmth strength, kindness and smile will be remembered always.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church. 26 W. North Bend Rd. Cincinnati, OH (45216). The memorial service will begin at 11:00 am.
