Azel Mincy was born March 16th, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Jazel Chapman and the late Dorothy Mincy. He departed this earthly life on June 8th, 2026.

Azel departed this life surrounded by his children, surrounded by the love and memories of those who knew him best. Born alongside his twin brother, Jazel, Azel shared a lifelong bond that was truly special and unforgettable.

As a child, Azel suffered injuries from a devastating fire that left him disabled, but he never allowed his circumstances to define his spirit. Though he never held traditional employment, he was a jack of all trades. Azel had a natural talent for working with his hands and was especially passionate about fixing cars, scrapping metal, and recycling. He could often be found tinkering with engines, finding treasures in what others overlooked, and helping others whenever he could.

Azel enjoyed the simple joys in life. He loved fishing, listening to reggae music, and cheering on his beloved Cincinnati Bengals. His smile, his determination, and unique personality brought comfort and joy to many.

Azel was preceded in death by his brothers, William Mincy and Marvin Mincy.

Azel leaves to cherish his loving memory: two daughters, Lisa Washington and Tina Snow; three sons, Azel Mincy Jr., Richard Mincy (Sandrana), and Steven Mincy; three brothers, his twin brother Jazel Mincy (Sylvia), Eric Mincy, and Sidney Allen; six sisters, Christine Mincy, Vonnita Mincy, Sharon Allen, Karen Allen, Sandy Allen, and China Williams (Mike); 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Marcy Frasier.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati (45229).
