Rev. Arthuree Banks Swann, age 82, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born October 7, 1932. She came to Rochester, NY in 1948 and joined Antioch Baptist Church and served in the choir until 1954. She joined Holy Trinity Baptist Church in 1954 and served there unitl she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1963, where she joined the New Mission Baptist Church. She served in many capacities at New Mission. She was 1st President of the Womens Auxillary of the Ohio Baptist District Association; General Secretary to the Ohio Baptist Association Womens Auxillary; TV Host for Sunday Soul on Channels 5 and 12 for 12 years; Announcer for Church Broadcast. She returned to Rochester in 1977 and returned to Holy Trinity under the Pastorship of Rev. M. L. Daniels. She joined United Baptist under the Pastorship of Rev. Simon Lowe in 1982. Rev. Tolbert-Swann was called to the ministry at age 11 and she accepted the call in 1983. She was licensed and Ordained in 1983, and she was appointed as Assistance Pastor at United Baptist in 1986. Rev. Tolbert-Swann was called to Pastor Nwk Community in 1993 and took over the Pulpit on the first Sunday in May and was installed as Pastor the frist Sunday in August 1993. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 16, 2015 at New Mission Missionary Baptist Church, 4809 Ravenna Street, Cincinnati (45227) with visitation from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
