IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony Wade
Sloan
February 29, 1956 – March 21, 2015
Anthony Wade Sloan, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 29, 1956 to Millard Philmore and Anna Ruth Sloan, who preceded him in death. He was the sixth child of ten children. Tony also had a brother, Alfredo Juan; and a sister, Joan Fay who preceded him in death. 'Pretty Tony' as his friends called him, was a sharp dresser, a world traveler and one who loved life and family. Tony being a free spirit, left home at the age of 16 to begin his travels. He joined the National Guard in 1976 and left with an Honorable Discharge. He finally moved and settled in New York City in 1980 where he met his now wife Phyllis. To this union were two boys and two girls. Tony also had a son from a previous marriage, Amyr. Every time Tony would come to Cincinnati, he would drop his luggage off at his sister Jenny's house or whoever he decided to stay with during his visit. Tony hit the pavement running to visit all of his family members which included: his sisters, brothers, cousins, nieces and nephews. Tony always made sure his wife and children had everything they needed and wanted. Tony came to Cincinnati at the request of his sister Jenny, November of 2014. He stayed with her a couple of months. Then he stayed with his cousin Jeanna a couple of months. Tony was then placed in Oak Pavilion Nursing Home for extensive rehabilitation. On March 10, 2015, Tony accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Tony leaves to cherish his memories: his lovely wife, Phyllis; three sons, Amyr of Houston, TX, Tylee, Richard; two daughters, Amyra and Azhar of New York City; three sisters, Roxianne Fitzhugh (Odell), Kathryn Roper (Joseph), and Jennifer Starks; four brothers, James P. Sloan (Waline), Lawrence T. Sloan (Heather), Terry L.B. Sloan (Annie), And Dewayne E. Sloan; brother-in-law, Roger Sims of Detroit, MI. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the Consolation Baptist Church, 1449 Marlowe Avenue, Cincinnati (45224). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation and will begin at 11:00 a.m. You may express online condolences at www.HerbWalker.com. Walker Funeral Home is serving the Sloan family.
