Obituary

Anthony Lydale Pleasant passed away on May 27, 2014 at the age of 25. He was born on January 28, 1989 in Cincinnati, OH. Anthony Lydale Pleasant was born on January 28, 1989 to Tamara Pleasant and Emanuel Howard (Vandia). As they say "It takes a village to raise a child". He was blessed to have his fathers, Allik Williams (Nicole) and Kemothy Ruffin Sr., to guide him through his life's journey. In addition to his parents, Anthony's aunts Daphne Chapman, Vanessa Pleasant, Michelle Pleasant, Tamika King (Jeffery), Virnitta Williams and his uncles, Marlon Pleasant and Eric Ruffin were there for him whenever he needed them. Anthony comes from a large family. He loved his family and they all loved him. He was the second oldest grandchild to Michael and Denise King, Lula and Vitran Howard, also preceded him in death, and the fourth oldest of his siblings. Anthony has 13 siblings: Alliya, Timothy, Brittny, Kemothy Jr., DaVonte, Rion, Tiara, Nakilah, Antonio, Gallique, Quinton, Emanuel Jr., and De Andre who will miss him greatly. Being the family oriented young man that Anthony had grown to be, he started his own family with the love of his life, Patrice White. Anthony was the beloved father of four children: Antasia, Anthony Jr., Antonio and Starr (preceded him in death). He was a great dad and spent as much time as he could with his children. Besides spending time with his family you would catch Anthony always ready to freestyle a rap or bust a move. A true meaning to the "Life of the Party". He would definitely get the party started by rapping loudly over the music, getting in his family members' faces that weren't partying hard enough to get them up on the floor, and he would initiate the freestyle rap sessions that much of his family would partake in the festivities. He was very talented at freestyle rapping and had made several songs with his siblings and cousins. Rapping was just one of Anthony's many talents. In his childhood years he was a great athlete. His athletic abilities included tumbling and his awesome football skills. He later took up boxing at the local Neighborhood House and made his mark on that. Anything that Anthony put his mind to, he did it and did "the best". He's a Pleasant! Speaking of Pleasant, he was proud of his name and wore it well. Anyone who knew Anthony could tell you he had a very pleasant demeanor. Anthony leaves to cherish his memory: his two grandmothers, Ella Jacobs and Ruby Travis (Earnest); and a host of family and friends. He will be deeply missed and we love you Anthony Lydale Pleasant. The family would like to send a special thanks to Anthony's three aunts: Deborah Alston, Marcia Ruffin, and Tomeka Oliver and the rest of the family and friends that supported us in our time of need.
