IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Annie
Gordon
November 24, 1920 – April 8, 2014
Annie Lou Gordon, affectionately known as Grannie, went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2014 while surrounded by family at Burlington House Nursing Home. Annie was born November 24, 1920 in Boligee, Alabama to the late Smith Davis and Emmaline Donald. After completing her education, Annie worked as a domestic for various families in Boligee and Birmingham, Alabama. Annie moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1964 where she continued work as a cook and childcare provider. After retiring, Annie dived into her love of gardening, planting flowers, and fishing. She was also a devoted caregiver to family members, often times, keeping great-grand & great-great grandchildren during the day. Annie's love for others mixed with gardening and fishing created many memorable moments around the kitchen table where family gathered to share life. Annie was preceded in death by brothers, Mose, Henry, Johnny, and George; sister, Emmaline; son, Smith; grandson, Roger; and great-grandson, Ryan. Annie leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Virginia (Alfred) Evans and Eliza (Leon) Walton; six grandchildren, Yvonne Walton-Brewster, Barbara (Lyndon) White, Cynthia (Jerry) Guyton, Debra (Robert) Price, Joe Nathan (Laura) Evans, and Rodney Evans; 17 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of special family and friends.
