Angela Renee Sluder Hockensmith age 38 of Danville, Ky. and formerly of Somerset, Ky. passed away Friday September 20, 2013. Angela was born on August 24, 1975 in Lexington, Ky. to Charlene (Jerry) Sluder Worley of Burnside, Ky. She was a graduate of Somerset High School Class of 1993. Co-Owner and Operator of ABC Gold, Games and More in Danville, Ky. A member of Mitchellsburg Baptist Church where she was actively involved with her husband in Ministry. Enjoyed home schooling her son, taking care of her little girl, singing, cooking, crafts and jewelry. Angela was a current Minister of Music at her Church and was a devoted Christian, wife, and loving mother and a very talented lady who enjoyed writing poems and poetry and sang with the SCC Choir. She loved people and was a people person. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Michael 'Mike' Hockensmith whom she married on December 31, 2000 in Tateville, Ky. and a sister, Amanda Lynn Sluder. Survived by her parents. Son, Michael Andrew Hockensmith. Daughter, Naomi Grace Hockensmith. A foreign exchange student, Lucia Mo of Taiwan. Aunt, Loretta (Darvin) Sluder Harris of Clarksville, Tn. Great-aunt, Nell Smith of Lexington, Ky. and great-uncle Melvin Hall of Lexington, Ky. Visitation will be held Tuesday September 24, 2013 after 4pm in the Serenity Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday September 25, 2013 at 1pm in the Serenity Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Dykes, Bro. Brett Brinson and Bro. Jason Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Southern Oaks Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mike will be Daniel Lewis, Tim Lewis, Tony Hockensmith, William Hockensmith, Andrew Hockensmith and Anthony Hockensmith. Pallbearers for Angela will be Jerry Worley, Darvin Harris, Brian Watson, Jim Worley, Lucas Burchfield, Danny Worley, Brandon Hislope and John Blanton. In lieu of flowers the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Michael and Angela Hockensmith Memorial Fund at any location of PNC Bank.
