Obituary

Angela Y. Kelley, affectionately known as "Angie," was born on November 24, 1962, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Phillip Bowen and Margie Ray. At the age of four, she was lovingly adopted by her father, Alvin Kelley.

Angie attended Hughes High School, where she met Edward Jones, the father of her three beloved sons. She dedicated many years to the retail and restaurant industries, where she formed lasting friendships and impacted many lives. During this time, she met and later married Jerry Brewster.

A devoted woman of faith, Angie dedicated her life to Christ early on and was an active member of New Emmanuel Baptist Church. She served faithfully on the Usher Board and the Kitchen Committee, always ready to lend a helping hand with a warm smile.

Angie's radiant personality and infectious smile made it rare to see her without joy on her face or a grandchild by her side. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and was affectionately called "Mama AK." To her family and friends, she was more than a mother, daughter, nana, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend—she was a source of light and love.

She was preceded in death by her father, Phillip Bowen; brothers Gregory Ray and Eddie Ray; beloved granddaughter Za'Kiya Jones; and grandparents.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her sons, Lonnell, Ronnell, and Zonnell Jones; bonus son, Alexander Fields; her grandchildren:  Lariah Jones, Lonnell Jones, Jr., Aniya Jones, Ariyelle Jones, Terrell Jones, Alivia Jones (Lonnell), Eri'Niya Clark, Nala Jones, Sa'leah Jones, twins Morgan and Madison Jones (Ronnell), Zariah Jones, Christopher Bell, Zonnell Bell, Zyonn Jones, Rihanna Brown, and Brooklyn Anderson (Zonnell); her mother, Margie Hicks; her father, Alvin Kelley;  and her siblings, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Angela will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love she gave, the joy she brought, and the legacy she leaves behind. Her famous words, "Cause I'm a Ladyyy," will live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her—because indeed, she truly was.
